Disturbance in the stands

Wow, check out this blog post, the story behind the video is about two thirds of the way down the page. Dan, Matt and I were at this game. I remember at one point a bunch of people were standing and looking out towards the left field bleachers. This must have been what they were looking at:

  1. A couple of questions/comments:
1.) How do you sneak that big of a cooler into the stadium? People have trouble sneaking in single cans of beer.
2.) Is that right where we were standing when we watched the last 1/2 inning?
3.) I am hoping that another video will be posted showing what happened in the crowd before that because I fee like we only got half the story.

    1) But a box of Good and Plenty is very easy to sneak in.
    2) yes, that is right where we were standing. Do you also remember when everyone starting looking out in that direction and we couldn't figure out why?
    3) I'm sure the guy is a complete loser who mostly deserved what he got, but isn't it at least a little bit concerning that the police's go-to move was cracking him in the head with a baton? In a crowded public area nonetheless? If he suffered a concussion, does he need doctor's clearance before he can resume light drinking and boorish behavior activities?

  3. Dan might have taken that guys free calendar poster. It was sitting right there. He should probably give it back. I wouldn't want to mess with that guy.
I don't think the police went overboard, but I certainly would only use a taser or baton in a last resort in such a public setting.

  4. I love how everyone is chanting "USA". Also,m why is it that the most patriotic USA cloth wearing Americans are the biggest pieces of trash? Was that his wife in the background with the schreachy voice who the cops tried to keep back? I am sad to have missed this live.

  6. While I admire his dress, I couldn't take the tasering and whacks to the head as well as this guy. When I snap, I'm much more likely to go down with a whimper once the muscle shows up.

  7. The police aren't taking this to trial. Since he was at a Pirates game they are considering that "Time Served".

  8. He is going to use an insanity defense. Being that he actually paid to see the Pirates, he has a pretty strong case.
